Short CV
Martin Schulz is President of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung e.V. and was a member of the 19th German Bundestag. He was Federal Chairman of the SPD, candidate for Chancellor and a long-standing member of the European Parliament, which he chaired as President for two terms from 2012 to 2017. Martin Schulz has been awarded the Charlemagne Prize for his significant services to strengthening the Parliament and democratic legitimacy in the EU.

FES management team
Martin Schulz forms the management team of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung e.V. together with Dr Sabine Fandrych, who was elected Secretary General with effect from 1 July 2021. Both were last confirmed in their roles in December 2022.
