100 Jahre FES! Mehr erfahren

Livestream

Since 2000, the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) has partnered with the binational John F. Kennedy School to host Berlin Model United Nations (BERMUN). Annually, BERMUN hosts 600 students from over 25 countries to simulate the United Nations. It aims to empower youth by being the highest quality international Model United Nations (MUN) conference possible by creating a conference for informed, involved and inclusive participants.

In 1992, BERMUN was founded with the intention of bringing East and West Germany together. Its teacher and student founders recognized that Berlin was particularly well suited to serve as a bridge between the formerly divided city, country and continent.  Its partnership with the FES helps to make that vision a reality as it hosts BERMUN and collaborates to provide dynamic political and academic thinkers like the author and Professor Yascha Mounk, who will address the conference theme: Solidarity amid Contagious Globalization & Fragmentation

This November, participants will simulate various UN conference organs including some General Assembly committees, the World Health Organization, the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court, and the ECOSOC. BERMUN also will host a Youth Assembly (YA) in conjunction with the Norwegian Embassy. The YA is a committee focused on the creation and implementation of local practical initiative and a Junior Committee for younger students.
